the jar · leave a feeling
a feeling you can’t name.
you know the one. it has been sitting in your chest for years with no word on it, and every time you try to explain it to someone you end up saying “it’s like…” and giving up.
put it in the jar. once a month i pick a few out and name them on camera. that is the whole job of this channel, and it works better when the feeling is yours.
it’s in the jar.
while you wait: work out what you feel for one person · draw a word from the deck · every word so far
how it works
- you write the feeling. not the label you think it should have. the scene. what happens, what it feels like from the inside, what it is not.
- i read the jar once a month. i pick the ones that come up again and again, and the ones i have felt and never said.
- i name them on camera. a word if one exists, the research if there is any, and my own version if there isn’t. if you left an email, you get told.
some of these already have words. limerence, alterous, the friend crush. that is fine. leave it anyway. the way you describe it is what i am after.
